Wine Bottle Candle Holders
Ever drink a bottle of wine and think, this bottle is just too pretty to throw away? Or do you just have hoarding tendencies like me? Either way, I’ve got a great way to keep around those bottles that you can stand to part with.
This project started with a bottle of wine I bought while visiting Paris. After I drank the contents on my birthday, I felt sort of depressed that the enjoyment was over, so I kept the bottle around as a souvenir.
Someday, probably on a dollar store trip, the idea that a long candle stick would probably fit perfectly into the wine bottle. I wasn’t too far off, but the standard candle stick is a bit too wide to fit into the neck of the wine bottle.
That can be easily solved with a pocket knife. I highly recommend doing this part over a garbage can or some other type of receptacle because wax shavings get messy quick.
Once you have a tapered end small enough to fit into the neck of the wine bottle, light it up and watch your piece of art transform. I have three of these wine candles now in my kitchen, next to my collection of corks and a wine rack. It makes for a fun wine-themed corner.
